Located on Highway 80, West of Truckee, California, Boreal typically is the first area to open for skiing and snowboarding in Northern California. Make your day complete by riding the trees on Cedar Ridge, gullies on the Lost Dutchman and everything in between. There is a lot more to Boreal than what you can see from the interstate.

FROM SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA

Take I-80 east for 80 miles and take exit 176 for Boreal Ridge Road/Castle Peak. Turn right to enter the parking lot.

FROM SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

Take I-80 east for 175 miles and take exit 176 for Boreal Ridge Road/Castle Peak. Turn right to enter the parking lot.

FROM RENO, NEVADA

Take I-80 west 45 miles and take exit 176 for Boreal Ridge Road/Castle Peak. Turn left to enter the parking lot.

FROM KINGS BEACH, INCLINE VILLAGE AND SOUTH LAKE TAHOE

Take Highway 267 to I-80 west and take exit 176 for Boreal Ridge Road/Castle Peak. Turn left to enter the parking lot.

FROM TAHOE CITY AND HOMEWOOD

Take Highway 89 north to I-80 west and take exit 176 for Boreal Ridge Road/Castle Peak. Turn left to enter the parking lot.
