    Homewood Mountain Resort

As the only resort located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, Homewood is considered by some to be a “local’s mountain” where Tahoe residents, as well as well-informed visitors, can ski and ride far away from long lift lines and crowded slopes. It is well known for it’s stunning views of Lake Tahoe and some say it almost feels like you are going to ski right into the lake it’s so close. Homewood might not have the vertical drop or the natural snowfall of larger Tahoe resorts but their vertical of 1650 feet and snowfall average of 450 inches is still pretty darn good. A good balance of terrain, consistently decent weather, and the relaxed feel of Homewood make it a favorite for families and casual winter sports fans although true experts may not find as many challenges here as they might like.
